A juvenile tiger shark (Galeocerdo cuvier) is easily identified by the dark stripes on its body. This pattern fades as the shark matures. Tiger sharks can reach 5.5 meters (18 feet) in length. They are usually not aggressive toward scuba divers. Yet, 138 unprovoked attacks (36 fatal) on humans have been reported as of 2022.
